Excel Headache with pasting data from filtered lists - Microsoft Community

hi, 

i have big worksheet i'm data cleansing before exporting our crm. data in worksheet mess i'm trying tidy up.

i've filtered results in column want move correct column in same filtered results. possible?

i.e both columns c , e show region of client. i've filtered entire sheet column c show regions wrongly appearing in column c , want move these filtered results correct column (column e).  

currently excel 2 things; 1) pastes them column e condenses information wrong or 2) throws error saying can paste them 1 item @ time. 

any ideas?

suggestion of might try , see if helps.

firstly ensure have backup of workbook in case have problem method not doing want.

1. set filter on column c
2. in first displayed cell in column e enter formula =c2  (edit 2 whatever first displayed row)
3. copy cell formula
4. select of displayed data cells in column e , on home ribbon click find & select -> go special -> visible cells -> ok.
5. right click on selection , paste. (you have formulas in column e display contents of column c)
6. show of data (set filters all)
7. select of column e , copy -> paste special -> values. (this removes formulas , leaves values)
8. you said move data column c if want reset filter on column c , can delete selecting data , click find & select -> go special -> visible cells -> ok , press delete key.
