on ooccasion have used internet explorer app.  after doing seems edge runs though working through internet explorer.  quesiton edge replace internet explorer or edge work through internet explorer.

you may use both internet explorer , microsoft edge @ same time.

it recommended use microsoft edge since supports more standards.

if face issue microsoft edge, report through feedback hub app.
