How do I get my product key off a computer before I return to factory - Microsoft Community

i upgraded windows 10 , have had nothing problems laptop ever since. want factory reset first need personal files, photos, music etc. (but don't know how yet either) , reinstall office 2007. purchased office 2007 on line 7 years ago. no longer have email receipt did purchase backup disks microsoft @ time. how can activation key computer before reformat? appreciated.

download belarc advisor  should able find office 2007 key listed.  can use disks provided install on reset computer or can download office 2007 from:  download earlier versions of office  (you can verify product key well).

it best if uninstall office 2007 before resetting computer.

you can use office 2010 backup facility backup your personal files, photos, music etc.  need backup external hard drive or dvd.  not sure music, can backup 'word', excel, files photos copying them dvd or other hard drive.

ps: if reset computer returned factory settings, in same state when purchased it. need reinstall windows 10, not sure how go on free download period has lapsed.  see if microsoft support can assist this
