Why Excel show value on CELL not same as FORMULA BAR - Microsoft Community

i try many pc use office 2016 found excel show value on cell not same formula bar number

58751.848    = value in cell

58751.8479999999    = value in formula bar

as tom has explained, excel (and computer apps) store numbers in binary using ieee protocol. decimal numbers have no exact binary representation within fixed number of digits allowed.

tom making point not bug mathematical fact.

while 1/4 can represented decimal 0.25, 1/3 can approximated 0.3333333333333333333333333.....
