have reported issue related team. summarizing symptom here:

excel 2016 mac checkbox clicks don't register.

environment

mac os sierra 10.12.2, excel 2016 mac, version 15.29.1, 15.30, 15.31.

more information

workaround

click multiple times tick checkbox.

hello jim, bad behavior exists lastest version on office365 mac. using form on 25 checkboxes business makes impossible use. pressing #1 not best solution, cause must catch first box. believe interpretation of bitmap select objects causes issues. can reply issue on dev objects option field. guess more fundamental.

temp bad solution:
1. press left ctrl + left mouse select

2. press #1 format box 

why bad?

in using ctrl catch object, potential move destroys layout.

i pleased confirm, issues has been resolved founds way in release 15.41 (171205) running on macbookpro 2015 os x 10.12.6, updated , tested old , new created excel files, today.
