Windows Edge will not open - Microsoft Community

when attempt open edge on win10 machine, briefly blue screen "e" on it, closes.

i have been researching on community , have tried 3 suggestions no joy.

1.  get-appxpackage -allusers | foreach {add-appxpackage -disabledevelopmentmode -register "$($_.installlocation)\appxmanifest.xml"} powershell.

   a.  did not "ps c:\users\yourusername>" when complete said done.

   b.  status did not change

2.  removed c:\users\tim\appdata\local\packages\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

   a.  status did not change

3.  get-appxpackage -allusers -name microsoft.microsoftedge | foreach {add-appxpackage -disabledevelopmentmode -register “$($_.installlocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -verbose}

   a. status did not change

did restarts after of these operations.

these suggestions followed.

the newest post suggests:

a. in c:\users\%username%\appdata\local\packages, select , delete following folder: microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe (select “yes” on confirmation dialog follows.)

b. in %localappdata%\microsoft\windows\settingsync\metastore, delete meta.edb, if exists.

c. in %localappdata%\microsoft\windows\settingsync\remotemetastore\v1, delete meta.edb, if exists.

i cannot locate files mentioned in b , c above.

the next suggestion change registry setting, not until hear you.

based on description provided, need determine cause of issue. having said that, know more concern. kindly answer following questions:

• did make changes on computer prior problem?
• when did notice issue?
• can send screenshot of issue experiencing when opening microsoft edge? note: please not include personal information.

in meantime, advise download app troubleshooter through link , run on computer. once done, check if still experience same issue.

reply information can assist better.
