Use a Value Entered in one field as the Default value for another - Microsoft Community

how take value entered in 1 field , use default value field.  example: person home phone 1 field name, spouse home phone second field name.  want have person home phone number used automatic default spouse home phone number.  possible spouse may have different home phone number.

you can use vba code or macro in form set spouse number in afterupdate event of person home phone; check sure it's null first.

however... bad design have separate table field each phone number. home phone/spouse home phone/business phone/second business phone/teenager's phones... consider instead having separate phonenumbers table link primary key of current table, , fields phonenumber, phonetype , perhaps other fields pertaining specific phone.
