have had ms office mac 2008 years, , i've installed updates without problem. however, today installed update, , can't edit own documents. it's forcing me sign in free month of office 365, ,   have pay after that? wtf? why can't still use office products , edit docs on mac way have been able without having pay?                  
  
                there new information:
    all 2008 licenses perpetual , not expire. can continue using office 2008 forever long or apple don't change hardware or mac os in way breaks it.  
   
  to remove office 2016 mac, follow these instructions:

     the problem caused faulty version of autoupdate.
