Excel Style creating new styles on its own/modifying cells? - Microsoft Community

hello,

recently have been noticing strange behavior in work spreadsheets. different styles being created in files , using foreign languages. today, styles in thai , in mandarin. each time open of files, cells changed 1 of random styles generated unknown source i.e. font, formatting changes. 

i work in other languages other english, hardly use styles feature in excel.

does excel automatically generate styles me out of convenience? if so, why apply of spreadsheets , not files? why cells changing, not entire worksheet? 

has else experienced this?

hi jenny,

this issue may occur if there conflicts on system might affect performance of excel. need ask few questions better assist you. please provide following information:

  • when did issue start?
  • were there recent changes made system prior issue (updates, software installations, etc.)?
  • have tried uninstalling , reinstalling office program?

we'll keep eye out response.
