Excel 2016 closes everytime i try to create a pivot table - Microsoft Community

hi

i have excel 2016 , on last week or facing problem in creating pivot tables.

everytime try create pivot table - excel stops workings , following error messages appear

" microsoft excel has stopped working - windows checking solution problem"

after few moments following appears

"microsoft excel has stopped working - problem caused program stop working correctly. windows close program , notify if solution available".

this happening when try create pivot table on excel file - new / old : created on computer or others'.

however when sends me file pivot table or open old file has pivot in - working fine , can functionalities on such pivot tables.

me , people have tried following

• restarting system
• removing com add-ins
• cleaning cache
• cleaning temp internet files
• updating antivirus , scan
• freeing memory ( still have 240 gb free out of 360 gb)- though dint seem issue still did it

however problem still unresolved. can me out of pivot important tool use

try following 1 one see after every step whether resolves issue- 1. run microsoft office configuration analyzer tool 2.2 list down problem issues https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36852 2. try repairing office installation (quick repair enough) https://support.office.com/en-us/article/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b 3. sometimes, add-ins can cause problems. determine, if add-in problem start excel in safe mode , see if problem has gone away. if yes, start excel , disable add-ins 1 one , start excel again every time disable add-in determine culprit add-in. start excel in safe mode - hold ctrl key , click on excel icon or in search box above windows icon, type """"excel /s"""" without quotes , enter. 4. file > options > advanced - in general section (go down in advanced), check """"ignore other applications use dynamic data exchange (dde)"""". close , re-start excel. 5. sometimes, caused due excel not being able access default printer. close office applications , change default printer through start > devices , printers printer. may physical 1 or 1 note or xps or pdf or else. if problem, need update printer driver default printer. 6. many third party applications cause problem tuneup utilities, abby finereader, kaspersky anti virus etc. see if have of them installed. close them 1 one , see whether helps.
