Microsoft outlook 2011 - Microsoft Community


hi 

i have microsoft home & business 2011 mac.  i using macbook air.

last week outlook stopped working.  i called microsoft informed me no longer support 2011 on telephone , advised me upgrade 2016 version.  when purchased it, not download because computer not updated enough @ time.  i told refunded due this.  i told purchase 2011 version (i had lost product key original).

i purchased 2011 microsoft office on friday , installed yesterday find yet again outlook won't open although other applications will.

i have been on telephone apple , gone through upgrading (now upgraded high sierra) , been through trouble shooting gone through safe mode , uninstalled , reinstalled office , outlook won't open.  the other applications open.

i grateful help.

please open word 2011. go word menu , choose word. should have version 14.7.7.  if have other version, follow these instructions. after updating, give outlook try.

make sure mac has working internet connection before checking updates. install mac os x updates followed office updates.

 

install mac os x updates first:

to mac os updates, go app store on dock, , click updates button reveal available updates.

 

then install office updates

to update:

  1. open office application
  2. go menu , choose check updates
  3. let autoupdate check , install updates
  4. restart mac
