how to open more than 15 workbooks simultaneously in File Explorer - Microsoft Community

i have tried follow instructions online:

 

hkcu\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer
name : multipleinvokepromptminimum
type : dword
default : 15 (decimal)

 

and changed data 16 instead of whatever there was, , got following "outlook":

  

in:

computer\hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer

i added new key

multipleinvokepromptminimum:

 

so total path is:

computer\hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\multipleinvokepromptminimum:

and clicked choose/edit follows:

name                 type                     data

new value #1     reg_dword       0x00000010 (16)

 

i have restarted - still can open max 15 workbooks @ time. go wrong???

yes, still daytime here <g>

i able recreate problem.. open 15 sheets in file explore, 16 or more did not work.

good news!

i found work around problem!

instead of using file explorer, go file open dialog inside of excel , select files there!  worked me, did take while of files open, seemed hang on files. did open after few minutes.
