Are attachments in OneNote supposed to be indexed for searching? - Microsoft Community

i'd able find attachments in onenote notebook going onenote search window , entering word or phrase know in attachment i'm looking for.  possible?  cannot find options in onenote control indexing.  onenote search function finds notes i've typed in on page, not search within attachments.  see in options onenote can search within audio files , images.  seems strange onenote search within audio file spoken words cannot search within word document or pdf text word.
