windows 10 insider preview 16299.0 (rs3_release) failed install on 2017-09-27 - 0x80240034

any solutions?

hi lane,

this issue caused incompatible driver. if you're still able login pc, please start pc in safe mode networking. once logged in, update drivers, restart pc go normal mode. now, try installing updates again , let see if update pushed through.

if in case you're unable log in pc settings page, follow steps below force pc load startup repair window:

  1. hold the shift key down while select power > restart.
  2. your computer restart the choose option screen.
  3. once page appear, select troubleshoot > advanced options > startup settings > restart.
  4. when computer restarts, options shown in photo below should show up:
  5. select option 5 enable safe mode networking.
  6. once done, update drivers, try installing windows 10 insider preview 16299.0 again.
