my problem similar. following upgrades last month edge has stopped working , means cannot open attachments emails unless in office format.  others, pdf files etc edge opens closes without doing anything.  since microsoft support appear unable help, know how remedy or uninstall edge , run 10 without (is possible?)

as gather question not technically able.

please answer-by-number, preferably without quoting post:

1. when (approx. date) did purchase computer?

2. did computer come win10 preinstalled, did you clean install of win10, or did upgrade win7 computer or win8.1 computer [<=pick one!] to win10?

3. manufactured computer (e.g., dell; hp; acer; lenovo; asus)?

4. has norton application or mcafee application ever been installed on computer since bought it?

5. have ever run norton removal tool, norton remove , reinstall tool, and/or mcafee consumer products removal tool?

6. version & os build of windows 10 is installed?

  • press & hold windows key , press the r key. in the run dialog, type winver , press the enter key.
