OneNote Ink to Text not working - Microsoft Community

i'm aware topic has quite few questions , posts i'm @ end of rope here. i've tried , spent hours looking through support forums these try , solve problem nowhere. i'm university student , take of notes on surface 3 convent them ink can revise them. option working week ago on surface (it has never worked on laptop) stopped. i've downloaded language packs in both uk , english, i've set proofing language every different english can, i've set pen handwriting only. nothing has made work. if has same problem, else me try or solution please let me know.

to specific:

- write using surface pen

- select using lasso tool

- "ink text" option available , not greyed out

- click , small loading pop either crashes program or nothing (i've left on 1 sentence 30 minutes before...)

also:

- if has suggestions of programs onenote less problematic ink text features please let me know.

based information you've provided, seems have tried different troubleshooting steps resolve issue on ink text of note. using onenote 2016 or onenote windows 10?

if you're using onenote application, suggest following:

1. boot onenote in safe mode. press windows + r keys, type onenote /safe, click ok. lets safely use onenote without encountering startup programs.
   
2. repair office application. click here proceed.
