OneNote Sync Issue - Microsoft Community


i manually sync onenote. have started/restarted program. started/restarted computer. however, every time make change have error warning:

we're sorry, went wrong during sync. we'll try again later. (error code: 0xe000002e)

if you’re seeing 0xe000002e error code, onenote needs refresh can't automatically. typically temporary issue , should resolve next time full sync occurs. if don’t want wait next automatic sync, can force full sync pressing shift+f9 while onenote running.

if problem persists, try following suggestion:

 

  1. in onenote, click file > info > view sync status.
  2. in the shared notebook synchronization dialog box, click notebook icon yellow triangle warning on see name of section that’s causing sync problems.
  3. click the sync now button next notebook containing section.

 

individual notebook sections can stop syncing properly. if have single section isn’t syncing rest of otherwise up-to-date notebook, can copy problematic section in new notebook , see if issue persists.

 

if these steps don't work, section sync errors or problems can caused corrupted section located in the notebook recycle bin. if no longer want section, can delete recycle bin stop error.

 

  1. in onenote notebook, open affected notebook , click the history tab, , click the notebook recycle bin.
  2. if there’s section or page not need, delete section or page.

  1. provide screenshot of office 2016 product information. screenshot, open onenote 2016 on system, click file>account, capture screenshot of information mentioned under product information.
  2. check if getting error specific notebook.
  3. where store notebooks?
