Latest Builds Don't Show Thumbnails - Microsoft Community

the recent builds of windows 10 insider preview (e.g. 16299) not display thumbnails of jpg pictures files on pixel xl android phone when connected via usb.  file show file type icons only.  picture files on other devices (e.g. hard drives) show correct thumbnails.

this new problem in recent builds.

hello,

one of possible reasons why thumbnail previews images not showing due configuration of settings. troubleshoot concern, follow steps below:

  1. go file explorer > choose drive device.
  2. click on view > under layout select large icons, large icons, or medium icons.
  3. check if thumbnails appearing.

if thumbnails still not showing,

  1. go file explorer > choose drive device.
  2. click on view > select option > hit change folder , search options.
  3. go view tab > under files , folders, make sure always show icons, never thumbnails uncheck.
  4. hit apply ok.
  5. check if thumbnails appearing.

keep posted status of issue.
