hi there,

i have same problem matthew , have latest update.

you don't need elaborated formula check that. created new worksheet containing following:

cell a1: 2000

cell a2: 50

cell a3: =a1-a2

cell a4: =a3/a1

then ran goal seek reach 50% in a4 changing a2 (pretty simple), see below.

excel systematically bugs , return message saying may not have found solution, see below.

after clicking on either ok or cancel gives same result... formula in a4 replaced value 50.5 , can't undone, see below.

i tried several times , result systematically same.

as i'm using goal using extensively (or @ least in previous version of excel), i'm hoping can fix rapidly.

hi eric,

please press windows + r keys @ same time, type excel /safe and press enter to start excel. test sample provided , check if issue occurs.

besides, better understand situation, please provide following information?

1. issue occur other people in organization same office version?

2. actions did perform before issue occurred first time? example, software installation , system update.
