started on excel file. none of files marked read only. checking on microsoft web page, see people posted. many have there own way fix it, nothing seems work. can help?

  • have installed latest updates windows?
  • did notice app setting changes prior issue?
  • are experiencing same issue when open excel workbook on different pc?
  • do have third-party security software installed on pc?
  • what troubleshooting steps have tried far?
