below example need on figuring out how calculate totals each category.

betta	ballot #1	ballot #2	ballot #3	ballot #4
tank #1	1	2	3	4
tank #2	4	2	3	1
tank #3	2	3	1	4
tank #4	3	4	1	2

there points each place:

1st place = 4pts

2nd place = 3 pts

3rd place = 2pts

4th place = 1p

once enter in place, want change point value or create table automatically populate point values.

in order change place number point value in same cell need macro. not advisable use approach because data entry , data manipulation should separate recognizable steps, can see if data has been manipulated , how. 

in case recommend building separate table points, in screenshot:

the formula in cell b7 is

=abs(b2-5)

copy across , down.
