i migrating data old data tracking program new program. data in old program doesn't line format new program. example; have several records using same numbering system, 1 numbering system single record on new program.

how can automatically hide numbers third set of numbers, such -001 , -002 in same column. have on 10000 records , can't manually, there has way please?

hiding rows not solution. happen row number 2010-100-002?

one approach use helper column formula sets flag include or exclude row, set filter show rows include. gave 3 samples of data. not enough understand logic lead correct flag. guess based on sample above want include rows code has 8 characters, formula be

=if(len(a1)=8,"include","exclude")

copied down rows of data. depends on other codes like. if codes shorter 8 characters, formula not work.

in case, please provide more sample data, can work out better formula.
