After editing a Query, PivotTable is no more + grouping issues - Microsoft Community

hi,

i build report pivottable using external connection db. when there multiple selections in filter, can't use double-click "feature" see results of count in table. workaround, can modify query exclude "category" don't have use filter.

after edit source in query, both pivottables loose connections , have start over.

i can redo table, i'm having issues. reason before modifying anything, excel automatically expanded groups related dates i.e.: resolvedate became resolvedate (year), (quarter), etc. when restarting pivottable, don't grouping done, i'm stuck multiple selections based on days. don't know how "auto" expanding group (year), (month), etc. got lucky seems 1st time when selected field autoexpanded in proper date grouping.

so basically:

1- how maintain connection, without loosing pivottable after editing source query?

2- how (years), (month), etc. autogrouping in fields of pivottable?

thank you,

jf
