Lag in populating of pages in Excel--Microsoft Office 2016 - Microsoft Community

i upgraded office 2016.  when use excel spread sheets there irritating lag in populating of figures 1 page other.  when open same spread sheet in old version of excel (office 2008) there no lag--it instantaneous.  is because newer version come cloud?  is there way prevent this--or there non- cloud version actual program on computer hard drive.  it bothersome enough break work flow , hesitate using product.  i may ask refund.  

if can appreciate it.
