Help with Access Queries - Microsoft Community

hi there,

working on designing access database (on access 2016) school. 1 of requests client generate list of medications need administered school. current set in single master table houses of input data, have listed 2 fields medication. however, when generating query, can't figure out how show information medications need administered school. on table, have set yes/no lookup tab each of 2 medications (along other columns elaborating on dose, schedule, etc), when try create query shows "yes" answers, query filters responses paired (will show if both columns show "yes", or "yes" "no", "no" "no" or "no" "yes").

have tried formatting information report , filtering out "no" answers, eliminates answers have "no" in set pairing.

find way filter out tables independently, results aren't dependent on each other. keep within 1 list, end goal have 1 list of medications school responsible generating. have minimal experience access or coding, answer may obvious, appreciate beginner-friendly walkthroughs on how fix this.

in advance,

katie

> current set in single master table houses of input data

that big mistake. first thing need understand basics of relational database design. access not excel. break 1 table several. see @ least 3: students, medications, , studentmedications (to resolve many-to-many relation between students , medications). correct relational database design absolutely essential success of access application of consequence.
