Access Database Tools runs painfully slow after upgrade to 365 - Microsoft Community

we've begun rollout of office 365 in our organization.  we have numerous access applications have been in use many years, on many versions of access.  after upgrading 365 these applications appear run fine end users, when developer launches in database tools, visual basic, vb environment running extremely slow.  attempting view form in design mode taking minute.  the actual vb environment appears "lock up" periods of time.

the important thing note here nothing has changed in environment other update office 365.

the end users do not experience noticeable lag, when development tools accessed see these issues.

any suggestions?

as general rule, not aware has using 365 version. same desktop version.

however, “slow” switch design mode occurs when have split database. (you leave out detail – rather significant).

in cases can “eliminate” slow switch opening linked table (even ones have 0 form or report attempting switch design mode). open “linked table” , minimize table. try opening form in design mode – delay note should go away.

if not dealing linked tables , application not split, next check default printer. if default printer network printer or non-existing printer, again see “long” delays. (so setup pdf printer default local printer – , comes in handy testing reports etc. , not wasting paper).

so check + test above 2 ideas.
