One Drive On Demand downloading all files days after install instead - Microsoft Community

i'm supporting company ~10 pcs, on windows 10 pro x64 creators fall update (1709) latest updates applied.

onedrive version 17.3.7076.1026 currently.

windows has been freshly installed on pcs couple of months ago.

they have around 160gb of data in sharepoint site. 

i excited see on demand functionality arriving 1 drive client. can build new pc , set on demand , not have 1 drive automatically download entire site again onto 256gb ssds in hp 600 g3 machines.

but, doesn't seem case. once week since enabling on demand function getting calls saying 1 drive not syncing files, giving errors , filling hard drives. several users having issue.

several times have re-synced, re-installed, cleared data , cache, done troubleshooting steps can find on site , others.

again enable on demand clean onedrive install. again problem occurs after few days.

this morning logged onto 1 of pcs after getting call.

i confirmed in settings in 1 drive on demand ticked. checked 'account' tab. see 45gb used on pc....

i open 1 drive sync status window. says syncing 46gb out of 160gb. why? set on demand. user has not opened every file in sharepoint site.

i have deleted downloaded data, removed sync, re-added sync , has indexed files/folders without downloading designed.

but how long last? causes whole sharepoint site downloaded?

is bug onedrive client?

i have completed audit of 7/10 pcs , 1 of these downloading entire sharepoint library!

one includes laptop full hard drive.

they running windows 10 pro x64 creators fall update (1709) latest updates applied.

all set tickbox in "save space , download files use them"

when set, onedrive client restarted (normal take it), indexed files, put correct cloud icon next files , folders , said date. no data had been downloaded.

what goes wrong these pcs doing on demand syncing sharepoint site after few days?

the users adamant double clicking files need, not selecting "keep these files on pc".

i going full reinstall of windows 10 tomorrow on 1 of affected pcs , set scratch.
i'm sure won't work other pcs few months old new windows 10 installs.

is there data can pcs pass microsoft? has bug , others must experiencing same issue here.

i think have found source of problem.

kaspersky av installed on 7/8 pcs. eset av on other.

kaspersky likes full scan once per week.

it looks when kaspersky full scan, onedrive thinks accessing files , kicks off download of entire library selection.

the pc eset av not seem have issue.

i'm in process of adding exceptions onedrive folders , .exe's , letting sit while.
