Windows can't set up a homegroup on this computer - Microsoft Community

i have been trying months on ad-hoc basis sort issue without luck.  network centre states "ready create" homegroup try error box without code comes saying "windows can't set homegroup on computer". running troubleshooter waste of time finds nothing wrong. i've tried setting firewall switched off no joy.  services show homegroup listener , homegroup provider both running.  issue might due fact that, on page, organisation shown workgroup.  stop homegroup being set up?  if so, how can change it?  cheers.

hi mike,

there configurations affecting homegroup creation. we'd know more information either provide accurate resolution issue or direct right channel if advanced troubleshooting needed. kindly answer following:

  • is computer on domain?
  • have tried changing organization homegroup?
  • which build , version of windows 10 using?

in meantime, can check article that'll serve guide troubleshoot issue.

we'll waiting response.
