Office 365 IMAP migration + AD Password sync, without Exchange - Microsoft Community

hi,

i'm checking how office 365 imap migration, ad password sync, without exchange onpremise installed.

we need migrate 1000 imap user (postfix) , don't have exchange onpremise installed.

before migrating datas imap mailbox, need create office 365 mailbox.

to have password sync between ad onpremise , office 365, use aadconnect, client don't have exchange server.

what best practice in case?

do need install exchange server in purpose (with ad update , need support exchange in ad), or there's solution (third part utility or alternate utility supported) ?

what mean not need exchange server deploy password sync, since want sync exchange attributes office 365 , adsi editor not supported, suggest deploy 1 exchange server in organization.
