... , how updates ie11 when have already* checked little box says "install new versions automatically" that is in info-box "about int explorer"? ? ?

my 'about i-e' says (*still*) have version 11.0.9600.18817, microsoft copyright date of 2013*(!!) 'update version' of 11.0.47* listed (??)

(a lower number installed version...??) link update** (kb4040685) now* takes page october 10, 2017 'cumulative security update', says:

  goes on explain m-s knows problems, doesn't explain why don't receive our "automatic downloads" windows updates*.  there plenty* of other links, (of course), none* of them break down we* need... if use 'filters', when available... go other pages of long lists of downloads 'available' every conceivable windows os, sharepoint, server version, etc. etc, etc. amazing* thing is, these pages open me still being signed-in account... stupefies me microsoft can't break down little bit particular configuration, instead of listing every* os, server version, etc, etc, etc..... compounding confusion/headache.

 ... , yes*, have run sfc, dism , other system check/troubleshooting tools windows, network, windows updates, etc...

several times.... no issues anymore, can find anyway.

  guess boils down why doesn't windows updates "automatically" supposed do??  

  is* current ie11 version(?), , why that* difficult up...???

...sorry venting (to anyone* reads this...)... 7.5 hrs of has made me 'cranky'...
