Excel 2016 Stuck in OPEN FILE loop - Microsoft Community

i pilot user office 2016.  today experienced 2nd time being stuck in loop excel 2016 wants me open files, open files, open files.  the way can out of loop go task manager , shut down files there. suggestions, please?

there may several reasons why stuck in loop while using excel. 1 of may caused installed add-in or extension. assist better concern regarding excel, kindly answer questions below:

  • were there updates installed prior happening?
  • does issue occur upon launching excel?
  • does happen on other office applications?
  • have tried performing troubleshooting steps?

we suggest run excel in safe mode. in identifying if there add-ins or extensions causing problem.
