Duplication error when renaming tables - Microsoft Community

when try rename table in workbook of 2 spreadsheets, error message name exists.

however, when go name manager, name not listed.

i tried edit name designated the table, , same error message.

i don't seem have problem when doing same thing other workbooks.

ideas?

hi,

this happens because names resulting in error have come workbook worksheets copied workbook.  if these names not visible in name manager window, @ following places

1. conditional formatting rules in workbook referring other workbooks
2. data validation cells referring other workbook
3. graphs have been pasted workbook
