Excel Workbook protection and other - Microsoft Community


hello,

i have use "protect workbook" feature review tab in excel protect structure, additionally protect tab in workbook avoid others editing rest of content (like slicers, adding columns, etc) except possibility add, delete and edit rows , choose values drop down lists columns. trying "protect sheet" feature not working because others cannot choose values data list of columns when adding rows.

can please me this, tip or trick use here?

hi maria,

with worksheet protection, can make parts of sheet editable , users not able modify data in other region in sheet. allow users specific changes in protected sheets, kindly follow these steps:

  1. on the review tab, click on protect sheet.
  2. in the allow users of worksheet to list, select elements want people able change putting check on boxes.
  3. click on ok button.
