Cancelled Sync Deleted OneNote Folder - Microsoft Community

the problem: failed syncing process deleted onenote folder completely, trace of file have pinned in under "open notebook" place. 

before clarifying issue i'd state have checked open backups, onedrive, , both types of notebooks, desktop app , regular app, , recycle bin. file has been erased, assured of this, know nothing can done. 

now, onto clarification. have of onenote folders saved locally, there no automatic syncing, or syncing can take place, far aware, since don't believe syncing can occur when  files aren't connected drive. when created new folder, odd reason, attempted sync, not it, little circle , 'x' symbol next folder. ignored it, went press folders 'notebook sync status' 'sync now', , since nothing happening (remember, don't believe files can sync when saved locally) pressed 'cancel sync', closed 'shared synchronization window' , deleted folder failing sync. again, evidence left folder ever existed in opened file sections of onenote, of have uploaded screenshot, when press open, cites error file no longer exists in location have attempted open from.

thankfully, folder not of great importance, , i'm citing question know if anything can recovered, or if lost.

based on information you've provided, appears folder/notebook you've created on onenote beyond recovery. additional information, onenote uses online storage onedrive, therefore notebooks , pages created automatically stored on onedrive.
