How can i do custom indexing using loop/condition ? - Microsoft Community

hello all,

my questions is, suppose have column 'dates' displaying dates have duplicate values, shown in table below:

dates	indexing(expected result)
11/1/2017	1
11/1/2017	1
11/1/2017	1
11/1/2017	1
11/2/2017	2
11/2/2017	2
11/2/2017	2
11/2/2017	2
11/3/2017	3
11/5/2017	4
11/5/2017	4
11/5/2017	4
11/8/2017	5
11/9/2017	6

i want create column b (indexing expected result) used indexing, indexing value not change if date same, if data different count should increase 1. 

how can done, kindly help.
