Excel 2016 can't connect to the internet to check permission on a - Microsoft Community

in email received excel file need fill out, when try open error saying "this workbook protected, , couldn't connect internet check permission. please try again when online." i've looked , can't find that's helping me excel connect. please help.

we know more concern regarding excel file. experiencing same concern excel file sent you? how did receive said file, through email? have tried asking sender of file if he/she set restriction file?
