V16.6 (171001) Crashes opening a certain workbook (and - Microsoft Community

i believe issue started after autoupdate.  crashes every time open single workbook (only 250kb no macros).  a friend same mac can open fine.  reverted version of file working in (successfully) , still crashes.  had them save xls , still crashes.  opens other files fine.

also, menu bar has changed can barely read menu choices.  almost white-on-white.  it blue-on-white (and other office apps still that).

thought maybe there cache delete can't find anything.  help!

try changing office theme in excel > preferences > general
