Recent Windows Update - Microsoft Community
it 12/23/2017. windows update has been asking me restart weeks. once restarted computer, headphones no longer allow output. have restarted computer , tried different headphones output. difference computer windows update , there have been no problems output until restarted last update. surely, not have completed update incorrectly by.......restarting , installing updates recommended windows when did click link supplied microsoft. after restarting after update, audio comes out of monitor connected hdmi cable , output plugged motherboard on ignored audio being sent monitor. changes occurred: restarting system update windows...... have tried restarting system multiple audio output work on different devices.
it working, installed updates, wasn't working....what did wrong?

let's determine cause of issue. started, we'd confirm current build of windows 10. here's how: type winver into cortana search box, hit enter.
meanwhile let's run hardware , devices troubleshooter. troubleshooter automatically detects , resolves issues hardware , devices. follow these steps run hardware , devices troubleshooter:
- open control panel.
- select view by: small icons.
- open troubleshooting.
- under hardware , sound, run hardware , devices troubleshooter.
- follow on-screen instructions.
since pc have installed windows update, drivers might not updated well. may consider updating drivers through device manager. check link for further instructions.
