Excel 2016 (32 Bit) links in Excel to other Excel files do not

hi,

we have strange excel behavior can not open excel files via link in excel file/table.

so if make 2 new excel files , set link in 1 of them other 1 via right click context menu "link",

- click on it

- office security popup shows (could contain virus etc. warning)

- click "ok"

and nothing hourglass mouse pointer shows up. if try open excel instance or excel

file or linked file, nothing ever happend until close excel window. can open other excel files or

make new one.

that happens in excel link excel, if link other files e.g. word file, open word.

same in word when linking excel files good.

it doesn't matter linked excel file located (e.g. same folder or netshare).

i on latest patch level on windows 10 (1511 & 1607 testet on 4 pcs). in 1 vm windows

and office not on latest patchlevel, working fine until patched latest state.

excel version 16.0.4549.1000 (32-bit).

i asking because have co worker working different excel files linked each other

and insist working last week.

can relate this?

with removal of kb4011051 our problems gone , vba scipting issues word 2016.

makes me wonder the purpose of kb4011051 , these 2 problems have in common?

seems ms doesn't care bug testing...
