contacts disappeared after update - Microsoft Community

all contacts disappeared after last update (os: 10.0.14393.1944, firmware: 02540.00019.15236.54008, hardware revision: 2.0.0.3), yesterday (2017-12-12).

windows phone 930.

if start type number know, shows contact, if press icon "at right of number" take contact, shows "couldn't find contact".

under email account set correctly.

in outlook mail app, contact list exist.

so, do.

i can't call 1 don't remember number...

i solve it.

first if same issue.

go www.outlook.com, login account, select people icon.

see if have structure

    -- contacts

    -- skype contacts

    -- windows live contatcts

for me first 1 contacts empty. , have 1 came no other contacts.

that contacts inside other contacts, have contacts inside.

if hava similar structure, can try this.

in web browser, logged in people, right click in the contacts (inside the other contacts), select options move contacts, remove the other contacts.

now go export contacts , select specific tab , export (try rename , loggin again if not show in export). if try before move contacts, exported list empty. (it first try, specific tab selected or export all, so 1 more bug fix).

than select empty contact tab , import contacts, wait time sync. can delete other contact's folder.

that solve me.

my guess on cause related localization (translation) of tabs.

my computer , phone configured @ english. account shows in portuguese (pt-br).

my people folder mixed. structure when bug started (in pt-br).

    -- outros contatos <portuguese>

        -- contatos <portuguese><all contacts here>

so current contact list pointing english 1 , contacts moved portuguese one.

no ideia why there guess update script related localization, like

find contacts folder (with bug didn't find contact's languages) no contacts folder founded, create new one, update current contact point new folder. app point empty contact list.

just guess.

i never had accessed region of site before have no idea of how before bug.
