Synching OneDrive shared folders - Microsoft Community

i use onedrive ver 2016 (build 17.3.6917.0607) , have shared folder team, each of synchs via onedrive business (groove.exe) , have sharepoint icon in file explorer synched folder i've shared.  have new team member i'm trying setup.  new machine windows 10, , can't either new or previous version of onedrive business synch, either using synch button on online version (which tells me need use newer version, once go through setup tells me it's synching), or trying paste link.  not sure i'm missing.  need install separate sharepoint app?  help.

hi prand,

based on description, understanding cannot use new onedrive sync client sync sharepoint online shared folders.

you can try following:

1.go sharepoint online admin center>settings>sync client sharepoint>choose start new client

note: if not admin, can contact admin checking.

2.then refer to  test sharepoint online sync windows part in article enable sync sharepoint online files new onedrive sync client.

3.follow steps in article sync sharepoint files new onedrive sync client sync sharepoint folders.

if still cannot sync folders, please check whether required registry key has been added in new machine windows 10:

1.press win + r, run regedit open registry editor,

2.navigate hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\onedrive, make sure value of "teamsitesyncpreview" set 1

if not, download , run the  teamsitesyncpreview.reg enable sharepoint document library sync. (use ie if can't download file.)

if above doesn't help, please provide following troubleshooting:

1.regarding "(which tells me need use newer version, once go through setup tells me it's synching), or trying paste link. ", please capture related screenshots describe it.

2.for "either using synch button on online version", please capture screenshot of "the sync button".

3.in new machine windows 10, check if can find microsoft onedrive via control panel>programs>programs , features>uninstall or change program.

please let know result.

regards,

tina
