Multiple Clicks Temporarily Darkens Cell Fill Colour - Microsoft Community

i have noticed when hold control (ctrl) , click in cell colour of cell gets darker more click in it. takes @ least 8 clicks white cell turn black. cell darkens gradually black whatever original cell colour.  why function created , know if has modern purpose?
