novice excel user project university trying create. have managed of basic tasks speadsheet prompts , youtube @ roadblock. ambition outweighs talent unfortunately.
creating fitness , metabolic spreadsheet hopes of tracking elements of metabolism, fat loss, muscle gain etc.

question.
need create column calculates persons total daily energy expendature (tdee). need multiply column showing persons weight estimated body fat percentage persons basal metabolic rate (bmr). has been set nicely , formula works. tdee need bmr + 1 option called multiplier. multiplier figure added bmr based on activity level of person. sedentary = x 1.1, light activity = x 1.2, moderate activity = x 1.35 etc.

have created drop down list withall of these "multipliers" dont know how create formula include option drop down list. bmr x (multiplier drop down list) = tdee.

using older version of excel , had start new sheet data drop down list data validate create drop list.

have few other sticking points can cope 1 @ time.

help.

in example below, f1 f3 provides list drop down in d1. g1 g3 corresponding multipliers selections. have put dummy value in b1 represent current bmr calculation. formula in b3 shows how take current bmr , multiply selected multiplier drop down box.
