we have ad on-prem syncing office365. i'm trying add existing shared mailbox distribution group. goal being emails sent distro sent shared mailbox (not user has access shared mailbox).
i found , followed article here details out process it, can't work way need to: https://msonlinehelpdesk.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200561547-how-do-i-add-a-shared-mailbox-to-a-distribution-list-that-s-synchronized-from-my-active-directory-
following these instructions emails flow, arrive in personal inbox users have access shared mailbox. create rule move them specific folder, defeats purpose of shared mailbox because users can't see others doing, reading, , following on (their normal process involves moving message in shared mailbox out of shared inbox after it's been addressed).
has had success i'm looking do?
hi evan,
please clarify whether distribution group (dg) , shared mailbox locate in ad or synced office 365. if locate in ad, recommended add shared mailbox member of the dg; if synced office 365, aad connect may not sync attribute ad office 365. recommended re-add shared mailbox dg member of it.
no matter situation, email sent shared mailbox should kept inbox of shared mailbox default. has nothing whether there user having access shared mailbox.
situation (email sent shared mailbox goes user mailbox has access shared mailbox), suggest re-confirm whether there rule (something email sent shared mailbox moved user mailbox). on hand, can try creating new shared mailbox , add dg member justify have mentioned above.
regards,
alan
