i'm trying upgrade 16232 16257. looks line in windows update log when fails.
does "update id" correspond actual update microsoft has, or number generated on pc?
sfc , dism good. i've tried uninstalling old .net distributions, uninstalling nvidia drivers, uninstalling old visual studio versions. i've stopped wauasvc, bits , cryptsvc many times rename softwaredistribution , packages directory, i've lost count.
every day, windows update finds 16257. downloads update everyday. then, says computer ready restart. every night, restarts computer. every day, fails.
i've tried burn 16232 iso , 16251 iso. on 16232 iso, cannot setup.exe run. "setup couldn't start properly. please reboot pc , try running windows 10 setup again. <ok>"
the 16251 iso seems cruel joke. it's 4,719,292,416 bytes , free space have on dvd 4,706,000,000 bytes. so, dvd burner says file large, , i've tried dozen different makes , brands of dvd's.
use flash usb stick.
also after download open file explorer , open download. click on folder , click on setup. follow instructions.
before doing clean install this; copy download folder in file explorer usb or drive on disk. use install downloaded programs rather wandering on internet.
