hello,

in excel 2013 when double click on chart "format chart area" menu pops up.

how can close menu using keyboard shortcut after done modifying chart?

i can see there little down arrow options "move, "size" , "close" don't know keyboard shortcut access in first place.

try following:

while have selected 1 of chart element (say example 1 of column bar) - @ juncture if press ctrl+1 activate "format task pane.

in this, depending on area while entering "format task pane", "format chart area" or "format plot area" etc.

at point of time press alt button once , go on pressing f6 button until focus taken task pane area (the area see on right side of screen - default setting).

while "active" in "format task pane" area, if press ctrl+spacebar, activate options "move", size" , "close".

you can select "close" option close "format task pane"
