Contacts get randomly linked - Microsoft Community

hello,

all related posts come out on search quite old.

i have office 365, , outlook.com id , skype. contact list got duplicated in case triplicated.

on windows 10 lumia 730 phone filtered on people settings account want see. chose office365 account , not outlook.com , skype... ... never worked.

the thing link them , looked one... not thing, less annoying...

but time started automatically linking random contacts have nothing each other. contact named gabriela spain 1 named neil uk. it's wide spread , think find ones , note linked wrongly... happening???

contacts randomly linked not quite accurate

i haven't got full answer for  circumstannces linkage not @ "phone level" ....

but @ outlook level filters down phone , can't editted @ phone level

the outlook a/c linking due previous link, or recent link tenuous

 9 squares {upper left of screen)  people

select  those  linked contacts

top  of screen   link (appearing right of the delete ) plus number indicating linked contacts

x deletes linked

check both contacts may require both  x'd  i.e. unlinked

so you've heard qvc.... that's part of story.

on outlook (exchange) on desk top link did not happen. not use outlook.com (though mentioned have configured on phone additional account.

your message gets bit criptic, think telling me how unlink contacts. know how that. want know why happening in first place.

eg re me   outlook "linked" 2 contacts  in case complaint more senior person, email junior had senior email address and phone number

so whilst did not link contact @ phone level "linked" @ email level due correspondence

i would hazard guess unlikely "random"  remember "suggested" linked, in above there no indication @ phone level why

microsoft has set linkage paramaters,  linkage in cases obvious  above

so you've heard qvc.... that's part of story.

ok. in case totally random , continuous , guessing @ phone level otherwise not know because not @ desktop nor @ office365.

i know contacts getting linked regularly. instance, found out mother's contact linked old client because yesterday name in whatsapp changed client's name. know not day before yesterday, , know there no activity client best part of decade (do still need in on contact list? not). point has happened regularly, repeatedly , annoyingly , suspect has happened several contact haven't been aware of yet.

any ideas helpful...

i suspect whole issue related fact phone still running windows 8.1. have upgraded windows 10 , clients not merging family anymore ... now.
