i can't search a Name - Microsoft Community

i have friends have in query like

fullname: [file_details].[firstname] & " " & [fathername] & " " & [middlename] & " " & [lastname]

then search for   like " joy smith *"  don't show me result  if search    "smith*"      or search   like "joy*" don't search out

please me out thankx

a search " joy smith *" find names start blank, followed "joy smith", followed blank, , followed other characters; , since access truncates leading blanks won't find @ all.

a criterion "smith*" or "joy*" find names beginning smith or joy. if firstname field joy should work.

it doesn't make sense put whole string , use wildcards try pick apart, though! , what's point of fathername? give "joy david  smith" if joy's father david , has no middle name.

could explain context? names come from? , how running search?
