Excel 2016 sum function not adding up - Microsoft Community

hi, when select few cells add in excel (ex. =sum(c20,c30,c40) 0 answer. have tried formatting cells numbers , currencies, calculator set automatic.  cells select add pre-existing formulas (ex c20 =sum(c10:c19)

please advise.

can happen if values in c20, c30 , c40 not numbers.

following -
1. copy , paste formulas in notepad
2. delete existing formulas in these cells pressing delete button
3. right click on these cells > format cells > general
4. copy formulas

now, should right result.
