Where does OneNote store Notebooks locally that are synced on - Microsoft Community

hi,

i have onenote notebooks synced on onedrive, want know stored locally on pc?

i can see notebooks in onedrive folder, they're 1kb internet shortcuts which, if clicked on, take me onedrive web gui.  since can still access notebooks when pc offline means must stored locally on pc.  want know can manually make backups.

anyone know how find them?  have searched notebook name, didn't show me file location!

running office pro plus 2016 version 1708 build 8431.2107  (i have installed on window 7, , windows 10 on laptop)

your observation/conclusion notebooks must stored locally offline use correct.

these notebooks stored in local onenote cache, in special format cannot use backup.

but, since you're using onenote 2016 have automatic backup.

you can access backups in file -> info:



Office / OneNote / Other/unknown / Older versions
